Racial Disparities in Marijuana Stops

According to an analysis by the Defender Association of Philadelphia, the two police officers who arrested Marcus James stopped black motorists for an alleged odor of marijuana more than seven times as often as white motorists. Marijuana was found in less than 5% of the vehicles that were searched.
