In a city where more than 10,300 people have been shot since 2015, no neighborhood has been more burdened by gun violence than Kensington. Nearly 300 people have been shot within a five-minute walk of the intersection of Kensington and Allegheny Avenues, a rate per square mile over 11 times that of the city as a whole.
