The Scene on Cottman Avenue

City officials say the explosion of a small jet that crashed into Cottman Avenue Friday night destroyed four homes and seriously damaged six others, although precise locations of those residences were not provided. In total, 343 residential properties were “impacted” in some way, according to officials, who declined to offer a definition of that term. Six people on the plane died, and a man driving a vehicle near the the impact site was also killed. As of Monday afternoon, four people remain hospitalized, two in critical condition.

A child in a car near Dunkin’ was struck in the head by debris from the plane. An officer reported another customer was burned from the explosion.
