Board Passes School Facilities Plan

On a 6-3 vote, Philadelphia’s school board passed Superintendent Tony B. Watlington Sr.’s $3 billion facilities plan that would close 17 schools, colocate six, and modernize 169. The closures would take effect no sooner than the 2027-28 school year.
