How a Sharp Reduction in SEPTA Service Could Delay Traffic
Traffic delays could increase by as much as 40% on some highways and an additional 275,000 cars could clog the region’s roads each day if SEPTA’s plans to drastically reduce service become reality, according to an analysis by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. Service cuts, including eliminating 55 bus routes and five Regional Rail lines, could occur in two phases beginning in the fall if additional state aid does not get enacted.
